Continuous-flow direct nitration of aromatic amines

Abstract: Nitroaromatic amines are tremendously valuable key intermediates with a long history of being used as pharmaceuticals, dyes, and agrochemicals. The classical approach for the preparation of these kinds of vital compounds typically requires three chemical reaction steps involving acetylation of the aromatic amines, nitration followed by acetyl hydrolysis. Herein, we report an efficient and safe continuous-flow direct nitration of aromatic amines.
